Dear Friends and Supporters of the Netroots Community,
Eric Massa here at the keyboard - I am writing today to thank all of you for your past and continued support as we work to build a stronger majority in the House of Representatives. In 2006 and 2007, I was honored to meet with all of you at the YearlyKos conventions in Las Vegas and Chicago. We exchanged stories, discussed policy, and came together over our common goal of making this nation a better place to live and work. This year, as I continue in our challenge to defeat the final Bush rubberstamp left in Western New York, I was faced with a tough dilemma regarding my attendance to Netroots Nation in Austin.
I was hoping to attend and again visit with all of you next weekend, but I've been invited to meet with the leaders of 20 local labor unions in the Southern Tier of New York. This is by far the biggest labor gathering in this crucial region of our district, and their grassroots support will likely be the difference between winning and losing in November. Although we tried, it simply was not an option to move this event.
I am disappointed that I will miss seeing all of you this year, but I'm sure all of you will understand that I must do what is necessary to win this campaign to end George Bush's legacy in Congress.
Thank you for your thoughts, your support and your commitment to the people of this country.
